Board of Directors

Tapion School Limited is a registered non-profit company. This means that the schools income can only be directed to achieve its stated objectives which is “to operate a school for boys and girls in the State of Saint Lucia from three (3) years old up to the entrance of a Secondary School…”. As a non-profit entity every parent automatically becomes a member of the company. What therefore, sets the school apart from other private educational institutions is the fact that each and every parent is a stake holder in the school with a voice when it comes to school operations as specified the By- Laws of the school and can put themselves up for office as Directors of the school allowing for involvement in the operation and management of the school. Through this makes for a “family” atmosphere where the concerns of its stakeholders are paramount and always given due consideration whether through the class representative system, PTA or at the AGM.

The school is managed by a Board of Directors elected from among its members. The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall management of the school and sets policy for the operations of the school in consultation with the Principal who sits as an “ex offico” Director on the Board. Parents and teachers are represented on the Board in the person of the PTA President. All other Board members are elected to their positions. The Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary are selected by the Directors from among their numbers.

As a member of Tapion School Limited a parent can subject to the By-Laws among other things, requisition a meeting, attend meetings and elect Directors to the Board of Management. The participation of and feedback from parents on all aspects of school life is encouraged.
